“I just wanted to tell something honest. I’m never intending to mold your opinion for you. This is merely a window into a world, how you feel about is how you feel, but you can’t deny what you’ve seen. A story that’s uncomfortable at times, because all too often, that’s what the world is.”
- John Robb Saunders, Writer/Director
When a wayward, gentle hearted twenty year-old grapples with the uncertainty of an accidental pregnancy, she finds solace from her well-adjusted childhood best friend.
SYNOPSIS
Chloe Rousseau is a misfit, gentle hearted twenty year-old. She's hardly ever known anything outside of her wayward, poverty-stricken lifestyle. Surrounding her is nothing but trauma attached to young people who don't deserve it. Her glimmers of hope: a well-adjusted, now estranged childhood best friend, Nina, a young sweetheart teenager named Benny, and a wise-beyond-her-years corner store clerk, Imara. After Chloe has an accidental pregnancy, she turns to Nina for support, to which Nina shows Chloe that no one should ever feel their destiny is predetermined, no matter where you come from.

THE PEOPLE WHO WERE IN IT
LAKEN GILES
Laken Giles grew up baked right into the dramatic arts world. Raised in central Florida, her formative years consisted of training in classical ballet, as well as performing on screen and on stage any moment she could. After high school, she began to lean her focus towards her acting work. Honing in her craft, she first attended The University of Oklahoma, and later, Savannah College of Art and Design, where she received a BFA in Performing Arts in 2021. She landed roles in The CW’s fantasy-adventure series “Legacies”, and recently played a main cast role in “Somewhere in Dreamland”, the Collin Tilley directed horror-thriller feature from the producers of “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. In 2024, Laken was nominated in the Best Actress in a Feature Film and Actress of the Year categories at the Austin Revolution Film Festival for her work as the lead in “All the Weekend’s Drama”.
BRETT CORMIER
Following what was a standout baseball career in high school, Brett Cormier was officially singed to play collegiately at Daytona State College. After an injury delayed his freshman year debut, Brett began thinking about pursuing other passions, and shortly there after, elected to pursue acting instead. Thus far in his brief, yet rocket-paced career, Brett has starred in three independent features, as well as landing a key role in Lifetime’s “Lies Beneath The Surface”. Most recently, Brett played a recurring character in the Bill Lawrence series “Bad Monkey” which released on Apple TV+ in August of 2024.
